The Graveyard Shift- Chapter 4
Once the smoke had cleared, I found myself staring at what I could only describe as a neko girl. The cat had disappeared entirely, and in its place stood a short girl with a cat-like face, cat ears, and a tail wearing a short, pink kimono with a black obi, a pink bow, a fish hair pin, black, knee-high boots, and cat paw gloves.
"What in the world..." I wondered. "Where did the cat go..?"
At that, Circe chuckled. "Luna IS the cat!" she explained.
"Huh," I responded. That was probably the least weird thing I'd heard all day.
"Ah, you must be Salem!" Luna exclaimed. "I'm Luna! Welcome to the Spook House!"
I thanked her, still confused by everyt

The Graveyard Shift- Chapter 3
Everyone in the room turned towards where the crash had come from. Everyone but Lilith, who was still fast asleep. Out of a large wooden door stumbled what could only be described as a Frankenstein's monster-esque creature. The creature was big and bulky, while his skin was several different shades of blue, with stitches all over his body. He was dressed in a red coat with matching red pants, along with a black undershirt, and had bolts on either side of his head, as well as what looked like handles on each of his shoulders. What stood out the most to me was the brain in a jar that sat atop his head.
"Stein!" Circe exclaimed. "What was that

"Home?" I asked.
Circe smiled. "Yep!" she replied, cheerfully. "It's our home. And..." She paused, as if thinking of what to say next. "Well," she finally said after several moments, "we'll have to see." With that, she set off through the forest again.
"Oookay then," I replied, more to myself than to Circe. "Is she always this weird?" I asked Ming, but he was silent.
We continued on, going deeper and deeper into the forest until eventually arriving at an empty clearing.
"Here we are!" Circe exclaimed, arms outstretched. "Welcome home!"
"This is home?" I asked, confused. All I saw in the clearing was an empty field of dead grass with a lar

Most things in Maplehollow are pretty normal. Normal people, normal families, normal houses, normal activities, normal lives. Nothing is out of the ordinary. Nothing except for one thing. Compared to the rest of town, the old mansion on the hill past the forest looks out of place. My name is Salem Marley. And it is in that very mansion that I found my new family.
It was another ordinary day at Crestridge High. Lunch had just ended, which meant it was time for free period. I walked out of the cafeteria, into the library, and over to the back corner where the beanbags were. I was about to sit down and continue the game on my handheld when I no

I stood in place, gazing at the creature with both wonder and fear. Though not as large as what I had previously fought and very nearly perished from, it was just as intimidating, if not more so. The creature had legs not unlike an elephant, connected to a body that could only be described as a cross between a bear and a lion, having the mane from the latter as well. The arms seemed to be gorilla-like, while the head and neck was that of a serpent. The arms, of which there were four, began very human-like, with the top two ending in hands, while the bottom two ended in claws similar to those of a crustacean. Upon closer inspection, tentacles

I stood in place for several minutes, observing the impossible surroundings. The desert-like area I found myself in was surrounded by towering cliffs, stretching what appeared to be several miles away from the enclosed area, though it was difficult to gauge the exact distance from my current position. Approximately six yards in front of where I was, Soren stood on a pole that appeared to be two and a half meters long. Behind him sat what could only be described as a castle, perhaps one that may belong to a wizard with a demon in the fireplace. After a few minutes of silence, Soren finally spoke.

“Welcome,” he announced, “to DHBA!”
I stood in front of the fountain, utterly confused as to what nonsense this boy was spewing. “I will require an explanation,” I finally said. “I do not quite understand.”
“Well you see,” Soren replied, “this place is kind of like a sanctuary. Demons, angels, and half-bloods all live here. They’re protected by the wards.”
“You are lying,”
“No I’m not. You’ll see.”
“I suppose,” I sighed. “If what you are saying is at the least possibly the truth, then I must ask, why have y

There is not much to be said about myself. Much of my personal information will never be revealed, so do not bother asking. Though I suppose if you must call me something, you may call me Rose. As for who I am, I am simply someone who enjoys the darker subjects, such as horror or macabre. That is all you need to know for now. Perhaps I will tell you more later. Though, perhaps not.
I'm going to be upfront here with you all. I may be quitting my progress on Deviant Art here. Perhaps indefinitely. I make stories, and while they are fun to make, they unfortunately have not gotten any feedback as of late. The satisfaction of making such a story just isn't there for me anymore. I apologize to those who did enjoy my work, but I am afraid it may be put to an end very soon. This entry I will keep short, as I have nothing left to say on the subject. If you wish to talk with me further, then please send me a private message and I will give you my Discord. We may speak there.
For (probably) the last time.
Rose.
As it has been over a year since my last update, I suppose I should be inclined to tell you all why I have been so absent. Seeing as there are also other things I have been doing and will continue to do, I feel the need to update you on those as well. Let us begin.
First and foremost, the reasoning for my prolonged absence is due to several different events in my life. One such event is that I have gotten married and have been attempting to settle into home life with my wife. Another reasoning for my absence is the fact that I have a job now. As such, there may be times where I am absent on here for long periods of time, though at the moment
Greetings once more, everyone. As you may have noticed, depending on whether or not you bother to check on my activity, I have been inactive for quite some time. I have been quite preoccupied as of late, though I will not be specifying as to why, as many of the reasonings are personal matters. That being said, let us begin.
Firstly, I would like to apologize for my sudden prolonged absence. I have had quite a lot on my plate, as they say, and must stick to my priorities. I do wish to be more active once again soon, but at the moment, I am unsure as to when that will be possible.
Secondly, Grimdark Chronicles will be on hiatus for the time b
